Several leagues have formed up across the pond and the London Rollergirls are finally ready to take it live. First official bout: "The Great Rock n' Rollerderby Swindle". Good luck, ladies, and congrats on getting it up.

The London Free Press has this short article about a guy who wishes there were some roller derby in the world. Perhaps he, and the author of the article, should check out the LRG or the Blitz Dames, for a start. Then look across the pond a bit, eh.
EDIT: Whoops...I just assumed this was from London, England. The guy's from London, ONTARIO. Ok, then. He could check out his own brand new London Thrashers/London Derby Girls/Forest City Derby Girls (identity crisis?) or, of course, the ToRD.

The Savannah Morning News posted a great column a couple weeks ago, wherein writer Steven Sacco compares roller derby to Mozart. It's a great summary of a first-time derby experience.

Not only were the Birmingham Blitz Derby Dames (Birmingham, England) featured on the BBC last night, they were featured during the sports segment of the news (as opposed to the "spectacle" segment where derby often ends up...). Click here to view the clip (RealPlayer). Note: this clip is the whole news program. The derby segment is about halfway through.

Kevin Noonan, a sports/opinion writer for the News Journal in Delaware, has this mixed-message about the Wilmington City Ruff Rollers and derby in general. Imagine the Eagles promoting their games by having two players wrestle while covered in K-Y Jelly."

A second Montreal team has recently formedâ€â€les Filles du Roi, whose Web site cheerfully describes them as “sluts and criminals.†Recruitment efforts are in full swing for a third team, as well as for referees and sponsors.

Bout recap written by Justice Feelgood Marshall #1954 - America's Referee:
Charm City's Mobtown Maulers snapped a two-game losing streak in
convincing fashion, dispatching the Nuclear Knockouts from Harrisburg
Area Roller Derby 141-59 for their first-ever away win and moving to 2-2
in interleague play. It was only the second interleague bout for the
ladies from Harrisburg, who fell to 0-2, having lost their debut against
Philly's intraleague team Hostile City Honeys by a score of 192-73 back
in December 2006. Both the Knockouts and the Maulers were playing at
less than full strength. The Knockouts were able to field only 12
